This weekend promises to be a very full weekend for many people. The City of Mount Hope is hosting its annual Jubilee Celebration. My parent's church, Skelton Free Will Baptist, is hosting a benefit gospel sing for Patrick McNeely (http://prayforpatrick.blogspot.com) Saturday night at 7 PM.
But for me... It all gets started very early Saturday morning with Bible study at 6 AM. YIKES!!!

Faith Mountain
I spent this past weekend in the mountains of Braxton County... Faith Mountain, to be exact. I gathered with a group of guys from the Ward Road Free Will Baptist Church in Canvas, WV for a weekend men's retreat. We had a great time of worship and fellowship. I'm looking forward to next year's retreat!

Kid's Classic Weekend
This weekend Beckley is hosting Kid's Classic. It's an action-packed weekend for the entire family. West Virginia Public Broadcasting (the company I work for) will have "Clifford, the Big Red Dog" and a new character "Super WHY" at the Youth Museum. I get to meet & greet all the kids/parents tonight along with helping distrubute info about PBS. It's an exciting time in Beckley and I'm looking forward to it! This weekends schedule is as follows:

Sept 5 - Activities at the Youth Museum & Mine, $5; Abracadabra exhibit; 6:30 - Ronald McDonald Show at museum's amphitheatre 7:30 & 8 pm - planetarium show 8:15 - outdoor family movie
Sept 6 - Uptown Kids Fair, 10 am - 3 pm - Games arcade, booths, food 11 am - Parade (Olympic kids / sports theme) noon - 3 pm - Shoemaker Square - Character meet & greet, Beckley Jr. Idol & other youth performances
Sept. 6 - Plane rides & activities at the Raleigh County Airport, 2 - 4 pm, pre-registration recommended - call 255-0476.
Sept 6 - 5:30 pm - Celebrity Game, 7 pm -103CIR Home Run Derby Fireworks at 9 pm Sept 7 - Hamster Races at Petland, 1:30 pm
